Following a tendering procedure, Light Source People has been appointed as an official supplier to provide contractors and permanent staff for Shell’s offshore wind projects and wider renewables portfolio globally under a five-year framework agreement.

ERSG said it was awarded global supplier status for recruitment and contract labour services, including technical and commercial positions within Shell’s offshore wind business segment in Europe, Americas and Asia regions.

EarthStream, part of TechStream Group, has also been awarded supplier status with Shell to support its offshore wind projects worldwide over the next five years.

Shell is involved in several operational and projects under development in the offshore wind sector.

The company recently took full ownership of the 108 MW Egmond aan Zee, the first commercial offshore wind farm in the Netherlands, where it is also part of the consortium behind the operational Borssele 3 & 4 offshore wind farm and the soon-to-be-built 759 MW Hollandse Kust Noord offshore wind farm.

At the beginning of this year, the company also took majority stake in the Emerald floating wind project in Ireland.

Together with EDF Renewables North America, Shell also holds development rights for a wind energy area off New Jersey in the US, for which the partners recently announced the deployment of two buoys to gather data to help inform the design and estimate energy production for its proposed project.

In Asia, in September 2020, Shell and CoensHexicon deployed an EOLOS floating LiDAR off the South Korean coast as part of a measurement campaign for an offshore wind project being developed some 60 kilometres off the coast of Ulsan.
