Stephen Blaikie has announced that he will retire from his role as CEO at Bibby Marine Services at the end of November.

Stephen Blaikie said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed working in various Bibby businesses, firstly in Bibby Maritime with the accommodation barges, and subsequently leading the acquisition of what is now Bibby HydroMap and working in that business for almost two years helping it expand. The last three years have been spent creating and building our new venture, Bibby Marine Services, which has the real potential to be a great new business for the Bibby Line Group.”

Blaikie will be succeeded by Stephen Bolton, currently the Commercial Director, who joined the company in March 2016.

Bibby Marine Services is the owner of the first Service Operations Vessel (SOV) built by Damen.

The companies signed a contract for Bibby WaveMaster 1 SOV in January 2016.

Damen officially launched the vessel at its Galati shipyard in Romania on 24 March, and the vessel completed its maiden voyage from the shipyard to the Port of Rotterdam, the Netherlands at the end of August.

In July, James Fisher Marine Services, main offshore marine services contractor for the Galloper project, chartered Bibby WaveMaster 1 to support the commissioning works on the Galloper wind farm.

For Galloper, Bibby WaveMaster 1 was awarded a three-month contract with options to extend to support the offshore commissioning phase of the works.
