CRP Subsea to Supply Cable Protection Systems for East Anglia Two Offshore Wind Farm

UK-based CRP Subsea has secured a contract from Seaway7 to supply cable protection systems (CPS) for ScottishPower Renewables’ East Anglia Two offshore wind farm in the UK North Sea.

Under the contract, CRP Subsea will provide 142 NjordGuard cable protection systems for inter-array cable terminations at the project’s wind turbines.

The systems are designed to protect the cables against over-bending, abrasion and fatigue during installation and operations, CRP Subsea said, and added that three different CPS configurations will be engineered for monopile and J-tube interface applications.

The company’s NjordGuard systems will be manufactured at its facility in north-west England, with project engineering already underway and final deliveries scheduled for February 2027.

Seaway7 secured a transport and installation contract for East Anglia Two inter-array cables in 2024, and contracted Hellenic Cables for the supply of the inter-array cables in 2025.

East Anglia Two forms part of ScottishPower Renewables’ wider East Anglia Hub alongside East Anglia One North and East Anglia Three. The 960 MW project will comprise 64 Siemens Gamesa SG 14-236 DD wind turbines installed around 46 kilometres off the coast of Lowestoft.

East Anglia Hub is among the UK’s largest offshore wind developments, with a combined capacity of around 2.9 GW.

East Anglia Three is currently under construction, with the first turbines installed. The installation of inter-array cables on East Anglia Three has also been carried out by Seaway7.
