The contract includes the transport and installation of the pin piles and jackets forming the foundations for the wind turbines, as well as the transport and installation of the pin piles, the jacket, and the topside for the offshore substation.

DEME Offshore will also carry out the Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation (EPCI) scope for 120 kilometres of inter-array cables.

The 62 wind turbine jacket foundations will be manufactured and delivered by the Navantia-Windar consortium. Navantia Seaenergies will also build the jacket foundation for the wind farm’s substation.

The offshore substation topside will be designed and built by Chantiers de l’Atlantique in Saint-Nazaire.

The Dieppe le Tréport wind farm will feature 62 Siemens Gamesa 8 MW wind turbines to be manufactured in Le Havre.

According to DEME Offshore, the wind farm has similarities to the 950 MW Moray East offshore wind farm in Scotland, where the company performed the full EPCI scope for 100 foundations and three offshore substations for Ocean Winds.

The Belgium-headquartered firm developed its own techniques for this project which will also be deployed at Dieppe le Tréport, including a specialised rig and a jacket levelling and fixation system, the company said.

Piling operations for the offshore substation foundation are set to start in 2025 and the jacket foundation installation in the following year.

One of DEME’s cable installation vessels is planned to perform the cable-laying scope following the installation of the substation.

Once fully commissioned, the wind farm is set to supply nearly 850,000 people with sustainable electricity.

The contract for Dieppe Le Tréport follows the installation of the XXL monopile foundations at Saint-Nazaire and the contract award for the installation of monopile foundations and the substation for the Iles d’Yeu and Noirmoutier offshore wind farm projects.

DEME Offshore has also completed the transport and installation of the offshore substations of Saint-Nazaire, Fécamp, and Calvados.
