2.5 GW Offshore Wind Projects Seek Engineering Design Services

Polish energy company, PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna, is seeking engineering design services related to the two offshore wind projects with a combined capacity of 2.5 GW – Baltica 2 and Baltica 3.

The subject of the order includes, amongst others, preparation of the Building Permit Designs in accordance with Construction Law, consisting of Land Development Plan, Architectural Construction Design, Technical Design, all required opinions, agreements, expertises, and permits, except for the ones which will be prepared and provided by PGE.

The contract covers the offshore substations, the wind turbines and turbine foundations, and the inter-array cables. The contract does not cover the transmission system packages.

The scope of the contract is divided into two lots – Lot 1 for Baltica 2 and Lot 2 for Baltica 3.

The tender remains open until 31 January 2022.

PGE is developing Baltica 2 and Baltica 3 through an equal joint venture with Ørsted.

The Baltica 3 wind farm with an installed capacity of 1,045 MW will be commissioned in 2027, and the closing of financing for this investment is planned for 2023.

The Baltica 2 wind farm with a capacity of 1,498 MW will be commissioned in 2028, and the closing of financing for this investment is planned for 2024.

The two projects secured their Contracts for Difference (CfDs) in April.
