Arklow Marine Services Officially Launches Gardian 8 (Ireland)

Arklow Marine Services has officially launched the first 20-metre Wind Farm Service Vessel “Gardian 8″.

On 12 January, 2012, the vessel was set for undergoing sea trials in Arklow.

Construction of Gardian 8 cost GBP 1.7 million and this development created 10 new jobs.

Currently, the company is building the second 20-metre wind farm service vessel which is due to deliver in July, 2012.

Arklow Marine Services is a family business run by the Tyrrell family involved in boat building in Arklow since 1864. During this period, the art of shipbuilding has evolved through many phases, from traditional timber boat building to steel boat building and the latest material being aluminum used in the building of high speed vessels.
