The Dutch company will be in charge of conducting all operational marine coordination activities during the commissioning of the 396MW project.

Marine Coordination Services is taking the place of GeoSea NV, a company of the Belgian DEME Group.

“As a newcomer to the Dutch market, it is our biggest challenge to gain the confidence of the international industry. It is fantastic that, at this stage, a player like Merkur Offshore has so much confidence in our know-how and innovative working approach,” the company’s Managing Owners Cor Van der Velde and Jens Doeksen said.

In mid-September, GE Renewable Energy completed the installation of 66 Haliade 150-6MW turbines at the project site some 35km north of the island of Borkum.

The 396MW project produced first power at the beginning of June, with full commissioning scheduled for next year.

The wind farm is being developed by Merkur Offshore GmbH, a joint venture of Partners Group, InfraRed Capital Partners, DEME Concessions and Coriolis.
