Turbine Installation Resumes at TPC Changhua Phase 1
Jan De Nul has commenced the turbine installation at Taiwan Power Company’s Changhua Phase 1 offshore wind project after the winter break.
The company’s jack-up vessel Taillevent installed the sixth Hitachi 5.2 MW turbine this week at the site located off the coast of Fangyuan in Central Western Taiwan.
Taillevent erected the first of the total of 21 turbines with a downwind rotor at Changhua Phase 1 in September 2020.
The consortium of Jan De Nul and Hitachi secured the contract for the 109.2 MW offshore wind farm back in February 2018.
Jan De Nul is responsible for the design, fabrication, and installation of the foundations and turbines, supply and installation of the onshore and offshore cables, as well as for upgrading the substation.
Hitachi is in charge of manufacturing, assembly, O&M, and other works related to the turbines.
