Fred. Olsen Windcarrier is planning to use its jack-up vessel Brave Tern for the transport and installation of turbines at the Guanyin offshore wind project in Taiwan.
As reported earlier, Fred. Olsen Windcarrier secured a conditional contract with Liwei Wind Power, owned by wpd, for the transport and installation of 36 MHI Vestas V164-9,722MW turbines on the 350 MW project.
Brave Tern arrived in Taiwan from Denmark in July to transport and install turbines on the Yunlin offshore wind project, also owned by wpd.
The vessel is expected to begin working at Guanyin in the summer of 2022. Fred. Olsen Windcarrier said it aims at engaging various local stakeholders in its scope of work.
Project suppliers have just recently been revealed.
