Additionally, the company will undertake the project management for the transport scope, including the engineering and design of both transportation and cradles.

The transportation of the monopiles and transition pieces is expected to begin in August.

“We are very pleased to be working alongside DEME Offshore on the Hornsea Two project,” said Boudewijn van der Garden, Jumbo Commercial Manager Renewables.“Our scope here once again demonstrates the suitability of the K3000 Class in supporting the development of sustainable energy projects such as this.

Hornsea Two is located 89km north-east of Grimsby in the UK and will comprise 165 Siemens Gamesa 8MW turbines scheduled to be commissioned in 2022.

EEW will manufacture and deliver the 165 monopile foundations, which DEME Offshore will transport and install with its new DP3 offshore installation vessel Orion at the 1.4MW project.

The Danish Bladt Industries is providing 135 transition pieces. EEW Special Pipe Constructions is supplying the remaining 30 and has recently upended the first piece.
