The transition pieces will be manufactured at EEW Offshore Structures Britain (EEW OSB) in Teesside, the UK. Production will start in September 2019.

According to Sascha Hofmeister, Managing Director of EEW OSB, the contract “guarantees capacity utilization until mid-2020 and secures the jobs of more than 180 employees.”

The remaining 135 transition pieces for the wind farm will be manufactured and delivered by Denmark’s Bladt Industries.

DEME Offshore will transport and install the project’s 165 foundations with its new DP3 offshore installation vessel Orion.

Hornsea Project Two is located 89 kilometres north-east of Grimsby and will comprise 165 Siemens Gamesa 8MW wind turbines scheduled to be commissioned in 2022.
