Siemens AG is preparing to undertake the final commissioning of the offshore substation platforms for the Moray East offshore wind project in Scotland.
According to Siemens, work on the final commissioning is just about to start, after which the platforms will sail out to the Aberdeenshire coast.
Under a contract secured at the end of 2018, Siemens is responsible for supplying three offshore substation platforms, as well as the complete construction of the onshore substation for the Moray East project.
Moray East will comprise 100 MHI Vestas 9.5MW turbines installed some 22km offshore. The 950MW wind farm is scheduled to be fully operational in 2022.
