The East Anglia One offshore wind project has reached the halfway turbine installation milestone with the 51st Siemens Gamesa turbine put in place.
DEME Group’s vessel Sea Installer completed the installation of 51 out od 102 Siemens Gamesa 7MW turbines at the project site 43km off the Suffolk coast in the UK.
The 51st unit also represents a major milestone for Siemens Gamesa as it is the 1,000th offshore Direct Drive wind turbine that the company installed.
The 714MW East Anglia One offshore wind project, which generated its first power in September, is expected to be fully commissioned in 2020.
