The contract includes transportation, pre-piling and installation of 47 jacket foundations.

Seaway 7 will be working at the Taiwanese offshore wind farm site in 2020 and 2021, using its heavy-lift vessels Seaway Yudin and Seaway Strashnov.

Subsea 7 stated that this was a sizeable contract, without disclosing the value. However, Seaway 7’s parent company did note that it defined a sizeable contract as being between USD 50 million and USD 150 million.

Financial close for Formosa 2 was reached at the end of October.

Jan De Nul is in charge of the engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) of the wind farm’s foundations and subsea cables.

Sembcorp Marine Offshore Platforms will deliver the jacket foundations.

Formosa 2, being developed by Macquarie Capital and Swancor Renewable Energy, will comprise 47 Siemens Gamesa 8.0 – 167 offshore wind turbines.
