All Formosa 1 Transition Pieces Land in Taiwan
Jumbo has completed the transport of all transition pieces for the Formosa 1 Phase 2 offshore wind farm from Thailand to the Taichung Port in Taiwan.

Jumbo Kinetic transported the 20 transition pieces in three shipments from CUEL Limited’s yard in Laem Chabang in Thailand to the Taichung Port.
Additionally, Jumbo coordinated the fabrication of 12 grillages which act as individual secure holdings on deck for each transition piece.
According to the company, with a diameter of 7,8x30m high and a 462t weight, the transition pieces are the heaviest, tallest and largest Jumbo has ever transported.
Formosa 1 Phase 2 will comprise 20 Siemens Gamesa 6MW turbines installed on monopile foundations some 6km off the west coast of the Miaoli district in the Taiwan Strait.
The 128MW offshore wind farm is an extension to the existing Formosa 1 Phase 1 and is scheduled to be operational in 2020.
