The topside will travel through the Nieuwe Waterweg and Hoek van Holland where it will enter the North Sea.

Upon arrival to the project site, it will be placed onto its jacket foundation, which was installed in August last year.

Borssele Alpha, scheduled for completion by August, will collect the electricity generated by Ørsted’s Borssele 1 + 2 offshore wind farm and feed it into the grid.

In addition to the 700MW Borssele Alpha, HSM Offshore is in charge of delivering the 700MW Borssele Beta transformer station.

The two platforms are the first large-scale grid connections to be constructed under the National Energy Agreement for offshore wind farms in the Netherlands. Borssele Beta is scheduled to be completed in 2020.
