Under the two-year agreement, Semco will service and maintain the project’s reactive compensation station
(RCS) and the three offshore substations (OSS).

The contract runs until the beginning of 2020 and will be carried out from Semco’s office in Grimsby, UK.

“We are pleased that Ørsted has chosen us for the job, and we are proud to be able to build on our experience and our successful completion of several offshore substations,” said Phaedra Pritchard, Head of Operations Service Wind at Semco Maritime UK.

Hornsea Project One will comprise 174 7MW Siemens Gamesa turbines located some 120km off the Yorkshire coast. The 1.2GW project recently produced first power and is slated for the full commissioning in 2020.
