Second Batch of Hornsea One Turbines Going for Installation
Fred. Olsen Windcarrier’s jack-up Bold Tern has departed from Hull, the UK, carrying the second batch of turbines for the Hornsea Project One offshore wind project.
The vessel installed the first Siemens Gamesa 7MW turbine at the site some 120km off the Yorkshire coast in early February.
Hornsea Project One comprises three offshore substations and the world’s first reactive compensation substation (RCS).
The 1.2GW project will become the largest offshore wind farm in the world when fully operational in 2020.
