The coastal geophysical surveys are to assist with the development of the Vesterhav Nord and Vesterhav Syd offshore wind farms on the West coast of Jutland.

Spectrum Offshore will provide Vattenfall with a shallow water dataset consisting of high-resolution multibeam, backscatter, magnetometer, and parametric sub-bottom profiler data. This is the company’s first UXO survey.

The two wind farms will comprise a total of 41 Siemens Gamesa 8MW wind turbines scheduled for commissioning in 2020.

Vattenfall firmed the 328MW order with Siemens Gamesa in the second quarter of 2018.
