Ørsted Charters Attollo Jack-Up for Borkum Riffgrund 2

Ørsted has awarded Aberdeen-based Attollo Offshore with a contract to provide an accommodation jack-up vessel during the commissioning of the substation at the Borkum Riffgrund 2 offshore wind farm.

According to Ørsted, the duration of the EUR 7.5 million contract is 60 days, with the possibility of extending the charter period for up to 120 days.

The charter is expected to start between 1 June and 15 July, the company said.

HSM Offshore, the EPC contractor for the wind farm’s offshore substation, is currently working on the substation topside which is scheduled for delivery in mid-2018.

The substation’s jacket foundation was installed in July 2017 at the offshore site some 40km off the island of Borkum in Germany.

Located next to Borkum Riffgrund 1, the 450MW Borkum Riffgrund 2 will comprise 56 MHI Vestas 8MW turbines scheduled for commissioning in 2019.
