The installation of the offshore substation is set to take place mid-September.

Construction of the substation started in May 2015 and, as head entrepreneur on the EPCI project, Bladt Industries has been responsible for the construction of steel, as well as the design, fabrication, commissioning and installation of the substation.

The company has been collaborating with Semco Maritime and ISC throughout the design process, onshore construction, as well as offshore commissioning of electrics and technical systems.

The substation will be installed at the Belwind offshore wind farm site in the North Sea, 45 kilometres off the coast of Belgium, where it will collect power from 50 wind turbines.
