MMT will start working on the project this July, and will carry out the surveys with its own ROTV, ROV & survey vessels Franklin, Seabeam and Ping.

The survey contract includes inshore and offshore parts, consisting of geophysical, geotechnical and visual surveys including cable tracker for cable crossings.

Ellen Svestad, CCO, said: “We are grateful for Prysmian’s confidence in our services and we look forward to working with them again!”

The COBRAcable HVDC link has been designated as one of the European Commission’s projects of common interest to help create an integrated European Union energy market.

The construction of COBRAcable is scheduled to start this year and the link is expected to take up commercial operation at the beginning of 2019.
