Anne de Groot, Director at Ventolines, said: “For this project Ventolines will bring in people that were involved in the first offshore wind farm in the Netherlands.

“We are glad that our knowledge and expertise can now also contribute to the establishment of this trailblazing international project. There is a huge interest in offshore wind power in the United States. For us it is a great opportunity to expand our services.”

Block Island Wind Farm will be built on the East Coast of the United States, about 5km south-east of Block Island, Rhode Island. The wind farm will consist of five 6MW wind turbines, and it is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
