SSE Tones Down Its Commitment to Offshore Wind Projects

SSE has disclosed its intention to narrow significantly the focus of its near term development plans for its offshore wind projects.

Siemens to Invest EUR 190 Million in Offshore Production Facilities

Siemens is investing more than EUR190 million (GBP160 million) in new offshore production facilities in Great Britain. Production of rotor blades for offshore wind turbines of the 6-megawatt class is planned, with a new logistics- and service centre slated for Hull.

Statkraft Welcomes Major Offshore Wind Investment

Reacting to the Siemens’ announcement regarding the decision to invest £160 million in wind turbine production and installation facilities in Yorkshire, while at the same time Associated British Ports (ABP) is investing a further £150 million in the Green Port Hull development, Bjorn Drangsholt, Statkraft UK Managing Director, said:
