Germany: EEW Manufactures Their Largest Monopile

EEW Manufactures Their Largest Monopil

In September EEW SPC has produced the heaviest monopile to date in Rostock.

This monopile for the wind farm Baltic II has a length of 73.5 meters, a diameter of 6.5 meters and unit weight of 930 tons. An SPMT-Vehicle was used to transport this colossus. That is the first step toward XL-monopiles. In future, monopiles can also be embedded in deeper water.

Located in the Baltic Sea 32 kilometres north of the Island of Rügen, Germany, the 80 turbine wind farm will be supplying around 1.2 billion kilowatt-hours of electrical power a year to about 340,000 households while saving 900,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions.
