UK: C&E’s Renewable Energy Team Appoints New Chairman and Political Members

Jeremy Thompson is to be the new Chairman of Commerce and Employment Department’s (C&E) Renewable Energy Team (RET) and is joined by new political members C&E Deputy Minister Al Brouard and Deputy David de Lisle.

Jeremy Thompson has been involved in RET (and predecessor groups) from the outset in 2008 and has gained significant expertise in renewables, the opportunities for Guernsey and the challenges which the industry faces. Jeremy is involved in a number of other ventures in Guernsey and has significant commercial experience which will be of significant use to RET.

Deputy Minister Al Broaurd and C&E Board member David de Lisle will be the new political members of RET to complement the rest of the group which is made up of independent Advisors and Civil Servants. The group has significant expertise in this area built over many years and the new members will be able to offer a fresh perspective.

RET is a sub-committee of C&E which has the responsibility of progressing local macro renewable energy with specific emphasis on offshore wind, tidal and wave energy. More information on progress to date and plans for the future are available throughout this website.
