Ørsted Offloads 50 Pct of Gode Wind 3 to UK Investor

Ørsted has completed the divestment of 50 per cent of its 253 MW Gode Wind 3 offshore wind farm in Germany to funds managed by Glennmont Partners from Nuveen.

The two companies signed an agreement for the 253 MW offshore wind project in October this year.

The Gode Wind 3 offshore wind farm was awarded to Ørsted in 2017 and 2018 as two separate projects with a weighted average feed-in tariff of EUR 81 per MWh.

Located in the German North Sea, the project is currently under construction alongside the Borkum Riffgrund 3 Offshore Wind Farm, where Ørsted and Glennmont are already 50/50 owners.

Furthermore, Glennmont also co-owns Ørsted’s Gode Wind 1 offshore wind farm.

Gode Wind 3 will be built simultaneously with the 900 MW Borkum Riffgrund 3 Offshore Wind Farm, and both new projects will feature Siemens Gamesa 11 MW offshore wind turbines.

The 253 MW project is expected to be commissioned in 2024 with Borkum Riffgrund 3 coming online the following year.
