EnBW Picks He Dreiht Quality Assurance Provider

Bureau Technical Services has been awarded a contract by EnBW to provide Quality Assurance services on the foundations and wind turbine tower packages for the He Dreiht offshore wind farm in Germany.

Bureau Technical Services will carry out manufacturing surveillance and supervision on both of the awarded packages across Sif and multiple Smulders European manufacturing facilities in the UK, the Netherlands, Poland, Belgium, Germany, and Denmark.

The Sif-Smulders joint venture is responsible for manufacturing 64 transition pieces for the He Dreight offshore wind farm.

The 64 transition pieces, each of which is up to 30 metres high and has a diametre of almost 8.5 metres, have a total weight of the transition pieces is 36.3 Kton.

The transition pieces will be installed on top of monopiles that will be delivered by Steelwind Nordenham, which received an order from EnBW in May last year.

The foundations will support Vestas’ latest generation V236-15 MW wind turbines whose single unit is capable of generating up to 80 GWh of electricity a year, said Bureau Technical Services.

Located 90 kilometers northwest of Borkum and about 110 kilometres west of Heligoland, the subsidy-free He Dreiht is scheduled to go into operation in 2025.
