Under the contract, awarded following a tendering procedure, the UK-based company will be providing a 24-pax crew transfer vessel from March until November of 2023 in support of construction works on the two offshore wind farms that will be built by Vattenfall.

The contract also comprises options which allow for two-week extensions ten times and for four one-week extensions.

The vessel(s) will operate from the Port of Thorsminde.

Vesterhav Nord and Syd sites are located 10 kilometres off the West coast of Jutland near Thyborøn (Nord) and Søndervig (Syd), in water depths of approximately 20 metres.

The wind farms, which have a combined capacity of 344 MW, will comprise 41 Siemens Gamesa 8.4 MW wind turbines to be installed by Jan De Nul on top of the foundations to be delivered by Bladt Industries and EEW and installed by DEME Offshore.

Earlier this year, Vattenfall selected Northern Offshore Services (N-O-S) to provide two crew transfer vessels to support operations and maintenance (O&M) activities at Vesterhav Nord and Syd.

Vesterhav Syd and Vesterhav Nord are the only state-tendered offshore wind farms to be constructed in Denmark between today and the commissioning of the Thor offshore wind farm in 2027, accordipng to Vattenfall.
