Lamprell Soon to Deliver Final Seagreen Jacket Foundations

Lamprell is set to deliver the final ten jacket foundations for the Seagreen 1 offshore wind farm in the first quarter of this year, the Dubai-based company said on 7 February.

Under a contract signed in 2020 with Subsea 7’s renewables business unit Seaway 7, Lamprell will deliver a total of 30 jackets for the Scottish project, 20 of which have been already handed over to Seaway 7.

The contract includes the manufacture of jackets, transition pieces and suction caissons, and their deliver to Seaway 7 at Lamprell’s deep-water quayside in Hamriyah port, from where are transported to Scotland.

Besides Lamprell, Seaway 7 also picked COOEC-Fluor Heavy Industries and Jutal Offshore Oil Services to manufacture and deliver jacket foundations for the project.

The foundation installation campaign at the Seagreen 1 site started in October 2021 and is now running in parallel with the wind turbine installation programme.

Located over 27 kilometres off the Angus coast, Seagreen 1 will comprise 114 MHI Vestas 10 MW turbines scheduled to be operational in 2022/23.

The wind farm is owned by Total (51 per cent) and SSE Renewables (49 per cent), with SSE leading the development and construction of the project.
