US Business Network for Offshore Wind Hosting Job Fair

The US non-profit offshore wind organisation Business Network for Offshore Wind is hosting a national Offshore Wind Job Fair on 22 June, with hundreds of job seekers expected to participate in the event for which leading offshore wind companies have already signed up, including Ørsted, Avangrid, Eversource, and Fugro.

The fair will be held online with registration free to job seekers who will have the chance to speak with industry representatives from top companies about positions ranging from internships, project managers, geophysicists, account managers, naval architects, mechanical engineers and more, according to the organisation.

This is the third job fair hosted by the Network, designed for individuals considering their next career move or looking for a start in offshore wind, providing the opportunity to apply for posted jobs and to speak to company recruiters about current job openings and upcoming jobs (in the next 6-12 months).

Following a recent series of federal and state announcements committing to and opening up regions for offshore wind, industry growth to meet these commitments will require qualified talent, the Network said.

“It is an unprecedented year for offshore wind – from Vineyard Wind’s approval, California coasts opening, and more states adopting offshore wind into their clean energy portfolios. All of these milestones will boost the renewable energy sector and drive job creation”, said Liz Burdock, president & CEO of the Business Network for Offshore Wind. “As the industry grows, the Network remains committed to building a robust local supply chain, including growing a skilled, diverse workforce.”
