Norwegian provider of technical advisory and project management services to the offshore renewables industry and Polish provider of offshore services will pool their expertise to support the emerging offshore wind market in Poland, where Contracts for Difference (CfDs) for the first projects have just been awarded.

Managing Director of Kongsteain, Rune Tvedt, said that this kind of cooperation between the two countries had “worked brilliantly” in the shipping and oil and gas industries, and that the company would do its best to continue this relationship in the offshore renewables industry.

“The cooperation will also focus on mutual development of hydrogen projects. Bringing KONGSTEIN’s knowledge and experience to the local market will be beneficial to the entire Polish wind offshore and hydrogen market”, said President of Inter Marine Group, Slawomir Kalicki.

Earlier this month, The Polish Energy Regulatory Office (ERO) awarded Contracts for Difference to the 1 GW Baltica 3 and 1.5 GW Baltica 2 offshore wind projects, developed by Ørsted and PGE, and to the 350 MW FEW Baltic II offshore wind farm, developed by RWE’s Polish subsidiary Baltic Trade and Invest.
