In partnership with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy and Formosa I Wind Power, Nearthlab performed the inspection on the wind farm’s Siemens Gamesa 6 MW wind turbines.

Drone inspection has become a favorable option for farm owners and operators, and more so for those located in the offshore sites, Nearthlab said.

Nearthlab is expanding the scope of its partnership with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy beginning with onshore wind turbine inspections in North America. The company is also providing its all-in-one inspection solution to North America, Europe, and Japan.

The 120 MW Formosa 1 Phase 2 wind farm comprises 20 Siemens Gamesa 6 MW turbines installed approximately 2 to 6 kilometres off the coast of Miaoli County. The turbines have been in full operation since November 2019.
