Goodtech will deliver a complete SCADA system to the offshore wind field, including the implementation of Equinor’s “Motion Control” system that ensures optimal production from the field through continuous adjustment of the wind turbines in relation to waves and wind.

The project starts immediately and will last until the latter part of 2021. The project also includes management and monitoring with the expansion of a control room in Bergen.

Goodtech has had projects for Hywind since 2009 in the test area outside Haugesund, via Hywind Scotland in 2016, and now with Hywind Tampen in 2020.

”We are proud that Wood has chosen Goodtech as a partner to realize an exciting project within the offshore wind area,” said Eric Staurset, CEO of Goodtech.

The construction on the 88 MW Hywind Tampen started earlier this month.

The wind farm’s eleven Siemens Gamesa 8 MW wind turbines will be installed about 140 kilometres off the Norwegian coast in water depths of between 260 and 300 metres.

Once operational at the end of 2022, the wind farm will deliver power to the five oil and gas platforms, Snorre A and B and Gullfaks A, B and C.
