Heerema Marine Contractors’ (HMC) heavy lift vessel Aegir is set to start working on the Changhua offshore wind project in Taiwan in the coming weeks.
Aegir is currently in Taiwan making final preparations to begin the installation of 21 jacket foundations at the site some 8km off the coast of Changhua county.
According to HMC, this is the vessel’s first wind project of the season.
Last year, HMC secured a contract by Jan De Nul for the installation of the jacket foundations.
Offshore work was initially planned to begin this March 2020.
The 109.2 MW Changhua wind farm, developed by Taiwan Power Company (TPC), will comprise 21 Hitachi 5.2 MW turbines.
