The contractor will be responsible for carrying out a geophysical survey required to obtain the soil information at a part of the Ijmuiden Ver zone.

The contract will begin on 25 February 2020 and end on 1 April 2021, while the fieldwork is planned to be conducted in the spring/summer of 2020.

According to RVO.nl, the objective of the geophysical soil investigation is to improve the bathymetrical, morphological and geological understanding of the area, as well as identify objects in the zone.

The objective is also to gather geophysical information, which is suitable for the preparation of geotechnical investigations and to progress the design and installation requirements for offshore wind farms, including, but not limited to, foundations and infield cables.

The deadline for submitting applications for the tender is 10 January 2020 by 13:00 CET.

The 4GW IJmuiden Ver is one of three sites identified by the Dutch Offshore Wind Energy Roadmap 2030, which have a combined capacity of 6.1GW and are expected to help the Netherlands reach the target of 11.5GW of offshore wind capacity by 2030. The wind farms are expected to be commissioned between 2024 and 2030.
