Danish jack-up vessel operator Ziton has chartered Vroon’s MPI Enterprise on a bareboat agreement.
The bareboat charter started on 28 May and will continue until 31 March 2021. Ziton will then have the option to acquire the 2011-built vessel.
This fleet expansion is part of Ziton’s strategy to meet changing market dynamics, in which offshore wind turbines with capacities of 7‐10MW are increasingly commonplace.
Enterprise will be available to Ziton’s customers under existing framework agreements, the company said. It will also be deployed within Ziton’s turnkey solutions for major component replacements and blade campaigns. The vessel will be introduced over the coming months.
“We are continually developing our business in order to remain a true strategic partner to our customers, and this vessel addition is another important leg of the journey,” said ZITON CEO Thorsten Jalk.
“It will strengthen our ability to service all current wind turbine models at wind farms around Europe in varying conditions, including seabed soil, sea levels, ports and diverse operating settings.”
