Jan De Nul’s cable laying vessel Willem de Vlamingh will carry out the installation of 20 cables at the project site from 1 June to 30 September.

The Luxembourg-based company is in charge of the design, procurement and installation of the turbine foundations, scour protection and cable installation on the project.

JDR Cable Systems is manufacturing and supplying 21 km of inter-array cables, as well as 13km of export and 16km of land cables for the wind farm.

Formosa 1, Taiwan’s first commercial-scale offshore wind farm, is being developed by Formosa I Wind Power, a partnership of Ørsted, JERA, Macquarie Capital, and Swancor Renewable Energy.

This next phase of the project has recently entered the construction phase and will add 20 Siemens Gamesa 6MW turbines to the already operational first phase.
