Beatrice Offshore Windfarm Limited (BOWL) recently announced that Pacific Orca completed the installation of three-quarters of the Siemens Gamesa 7MW turbines, while 59 have been commissioned.

The vessel is loading the units in sets of five at the Nigg port, Siemens Gamesa’s pre-assembly base, and installing them at the site in Outer Moray Firth, the UK.

Commissioning works are carried out using a combination of the walk-to-work vessel Island Crown and crew transfer vessels Fob Swath 3 and Seacat Resolute.

The 588MW Beatrice offshore wind farm is scheduled to be commissioned in Spring.
