Pacific Orca installed the first unit at the site in the Outer Moray Firth, UK, in mid-July, shortly after which the 588MW wind farm delivered first power.

The turbines are loaded in sets of five at the Nigg port, Siemens Gamesa’s pre-assembly base, with the commissioning carried out immediately after installation.

BOWL, a joint venture partnership between SSE (40%), Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (35%) and Red Rock Power Limited (25%), plans to have the project commissioned in spring this year.
