Atlas Secures More Borssele 1&2 Work

Ørsted has awarded Atlas Professionals with a contract to supply personnel for the Borssele 1 & 2 offshore wind farm in the Netherlands.

Atlas will provide the full range of trained technical and administrative specialists, including site coordinators, document controllers, project management support, client representatives, offshore and health and safety managers, as well as operations support and installation managers.

The five-year contract will begin on 1 December, with the recruitment supervised from Atlas’ offices in Bristol, UK, and Hoofddorp, The Netherlands.

The company’s Vlissingen recruitment hub, opened in February due to the construction of the Borssele wind farm, is also said to play a central role supporting with local content.

“This is an excellent addition to the several frame agreements we already have in place with Ørsted, and we look forward to providing the company and its suppliers with the skilled, specialist services they need to drive this pioneering project forward.”

Atlas Professionals is one of five agencies chosen to provide specialist personnel for the 752MW project. The recruitment company recently also signed a two-year contract to support the Dutch branch of Siemens Gamesa on projects in the Netherlands, including Borssele 1 & 2.

Ørsted, formerly Dong Energy, has been cooperating with Atlas since 2013. Last year, the two parties signed a contract for the provision of personnel for the developer’s offshore wind farms in Denmark, Germany and the UK.

Located 23km from the coast of Zeeland, Borssele 1 & 2 will feature 94 Siemens Gamesa 8MW turbines scheduled to be fully commissioned at the end of 2020.
