SeaPlanner will provide induction software to the project during its operational phase, as well as its brand new Permit to Work system which was launched in December 2017.

Nordsee One GmbH, a special purpose company owned by Northland Power Inc. (85%) and innogy SE (15%), had already been using the SeaPlanner software during construction, employing its tools for vessel tracking, personnel tracking and the provision of a comprehensive communications survey.

SeaRoc, the company behind SeaPlanner, pointed out that this was the first project to benefit from the software’s upgrade which included a new mapping platform featuring enhanced guard zone alerting and analysis tools.

Tim Kittelhake, COO at Nordsee One GmbH said: “We’ve been really happy with the SeaPlanner system during construction of the offshore wind farm – the tools have enabled us to manage operations in such an efficient and effective way that the project was completed on time and below budget which is a huge achievement for Nordsee One GmbH and the renewable energy sector as a whole.”

“With SeaPlanner system and its client support team remaining for the wind farm’s operational phase, we’re confident we can continue to manage the safety of personnel and efficiency of the activity that will continue on the site for years ahead,” Kittelhake said.
