Opus Marine will provide the majority of crew transfer services between the base port Sassnitz and the Arkona wind farm located approximately 35 kilometers North East of the island of Rügen.

The construction works on the wind farm will start this summer and continue until 2019.

Opus Marine will be using two Crew Transfer Vessels (CTVs), Vivace and Presto, to transfer technicians to the 60-turbine offshore wind farm.

Additionally, the company will provide their offshore vessel Deveron to service the Arkona met mast. Deveron’s bow section and foredeck have purposely been modified to meet the requirements of the met mast, the operator said. The modifications also allow Deveron to serve as a CTV.

Arkona is a joint venture project of the German energy company E.ON and Norway’s Statoil. E.ON is the developer and the future operator of the wind farm.
