Navantia and Iberdrola Make East Anglia ONE Jackets Order Official

Spanish companies Navantia and Windar have signed a definitive agreement with compatriot Iberdrola for the construction of 42 jacket foundations and piles for the 714MW East Anglia One wind farm off Suffolk, UK.

The scope of the contract, in addition to the 42 jackets, includes the construction of 126 piles. The works will be carried out during 2017 and most of 2018.

The majority of work will be executed at the Navantia facility in Fene and the piles will be built by Windar at its facilities in Avilés.

Navantia will also build the offshore substation for East Anglia ONE.

The wind farm will consist of 102 Siemens 7MW turbines and the electrical substation which are scheduled for full commissioning by the end of 2018. The remaining 60 jacket foundations will be built by Lamprell.

East Anglia ONE covers an area of ​​about 300 km2 and is located approximately 45 km southeast of the town of Lowestoft.

Iberdrola is also developing the East Anglia TWO and THREE wind farms which are in the feasibility study phase.
