It Takes Two to Tango…

All five wind turbines are expected to be installed by early September, with the Block Island Wind Farm planned to be put into full operation by the end of the year.

Fred. Olsen Windcarrier’s jack-up installation vessel Brave Tern erected the first tower sections at the site on 2 August, and the first of five Haliade nacelles was installed shortly after that.

The vessel, in charge of installing all tower sections, nacelles, and blades, is supported by two lift boats – L/B Caitlin, and L/B Paul – during the turbine installation works.
