The wind farm is a part of “Project Zero” making the local community CO2 neutral by 2029.

K2 Management will in the initial phase support with experts to review and optimize the existing business case and also perform a site feasibility study in order to develop a new, improved business case.

“We are looking forward to supporting Sønderborg Forsyning with our expertise from more than 60 offshore projects worldwide. We are confident, we can add value and support the realization of this project,” Co-Founder and Partner at K2 Management Lars K. Hammershøj said.

The planned nearshore project named Lillegrund will be located north of the Danish island Als.

An optimal location according to CEO at Sønderborg Forsyning Lars B. Riemann: “There is a good combination of high wind speeds, close connection to grid and harbor facilities making Lillegrund interesting. Depending on the outcome of the business case studies the project can be expanded with additional 400 MW.”

First round is planned for commissioning by 2020.
