The site under construction

Redsun Developments started building its Turbine Business Park in Birkenhead, the company confirmed to Offshore WIND this afternoon.

Turbine Business Park involves redevelopment of a 5 acre site on the A41 in Birkenhead, which has been derelict for many years.

Redsun is delivering over 90,000sqft of energy efficient workspace units in two phases. The first of two phases of development is scheduled to be completed already in November.

The site is expected to appeal to companies operating in the supply chain for large scale offshore wind farms and other renewable energy projects. Its proximity to Cammell Laird, DONG Energy and the port makes it an ideal location in addition to its A-road visibility and transport connections, Redsun highlighted.

Once fully occupied, Turbine Business Park will accommodate up to 200 jobs and will have introduced over £7m in private investment into the local economy.

The project is supported by Wirral Council and the Regional Growth Fund.
