Safety Technology Opens New Humber Wind Energy Training Facility

Safety Technology Ltd this week announced the training of its first trainees at the flagship CATCH facility near Immingham, North Lincolnshire.

Based in a wind energy hot spot, both onshore and offshore, candidates have travelled from all over the UK to this world class facility to gain RenewableUK and Global Wind Organisation (GWO) certification to work on onshore wind farms.

In a joint partnership announced earlier this year, Safety Technology and HCF are now offering the full suite of land based Global Wind Organisation (GWO) and RenewableUK accredited courses on the CATCH site.

Managing Director of Safety Technology, Bob Dickens, said on the partnership’s first trainees: “We only recently announced our intention to offer this training at CATCH so I’m delighted to announce only a short time later the actual beginning of training.”

HCF who manage the CATCH facility, is a not-for-profit, industry led partnership which supports the Process, Energy, Engineering and Renewables industries in the Humber region and beyond.

CEO of HCF, Dr Tony Flinn said: “As the Humber region becomes the epicentre of Offshore wind energy supply, we want to ensure that we’re here to provide the maximum opportunity for local people to embark on valuable careers.”

With the wind behind them this partnership looks set to play a vital role in the supply chain for the surrounding wind energy activity.
