DanTysk OWF Makes Changes on Map of Germany

DanTysk offshore wind farm now encompasses the northernmost point of Germany, following the installation of  its foundation number 22, which was driven into the seabed west of the island of Sylt.

The location of the turbine, called simply DT-22, has not yet been reported to the German government as a new point that enlarges the country’s territory. However, this does not affect the national borders “as the respective lines between Denmark and Germany are peacefully agreed”, Vattenfall, the developer of the offshore wind farm writes on its official website.

An interesting fact about DanTysk was also published on Vattenfall’s website, which says that Map Institutes and encyclopedias also need to be updated on Germany’s new geographical boundaries.
