Vestas has produced the first prototype 80 meter blade for the V164-8.0 MW – the world’s most powerful offshore wind turbine – at the R&D centre on the Isle of Wight, UK. The blade will now undergo an extensive testing regime to ensure total reliability.
The Energiekontor AG, based in Bremen, has agreed today with the Bremen project developer wpd on the sale of an offshore wind farm, the Nordergründe. The buyer is a subsidiary of wpd Offshore GmbH.
Dr. Niels Diepeveen (Civil Engineering and Geosciences) has engaged in studying the future of offshore wind turbines in his PhD-research, conducted under the supervision of Professor Gijs van Kuik, both working at TU Delft, the Netherlands.
